SIERRA LEONE, AFRICA

Sierra Leone (Salone) is on the western coast of Africa. With over 6 million people, this tropical country is know for its hilly mountains and beautiful beaches. The capital is Freetown, a city filled with diversity and culture. This beautiful country faces many difficulties.  One of the primary concerns is healthcare for men, women, and children. Currently Sierra Leone is ranked at 177 on the Human Development Index listed with the United Nations. Some of the major health problems in Sierra Leone are Malaria, HIV/AIDS, TB, infant mortality, and women's reproductive health. With the help of implementing programs towards reduction, prevention, and education, there is hope for better health for Sierra Leoneans.
